The Four Islands Tour
This morning at 8am I was picked up at my hostel for the snorkeling tour I had booked. We drove to a beach, where a speed-boat was picking us up.
The first stop was an island, that was basically a big rock in the ocean, so you couldn’t go onto the island. Snorkeling around it on the other hand was possible and enjoyable, since the island was surrounded by a reef inhibited by all kinds of fish.
The second stop was actually not about snorkeling. It was an island, where we swam through a dark cave, I’d guess about 100m. It’s called the emerald cave. When you leave the cave on the other side, you find yourself inside a deep canyon inside of the island.
It is said that pirated used this place to hide their stuff. I think you can only do this during low tide, otherwise the cave is probably flooded, not sure though.

After leaving the cave, we drove to our third destination. On this island we went on land and there was a little buffet with rice, three different kind of Thai dishes and fruit.
We stay on this island for two hours. First I snorkeled at the reef close to the beach and then I took a nap on the beach (in the shadow, of course).
The last island we visited was like the first one. Apparently some people saw a pretty big baloonfish, sadly I missed it though.
Never the less I saw some beautiful fishes and oceanic flora. Some were so colorful you almost thought they were fluorescent.
I don’t really know what I’ll do with my remaining time on Koh Lanta (two nights). I think I will visit the animal shelter tomorrow, which is actually rated the top sight on tripadvisor.
Tonight I will just see what the other people from my dorm room are doing. I’m living in a 12 bed room by the way.
Wow, seems like we got lucky, it just started raining HEAVILY.
