Soaking up the sun
Today I rented a bike, because I wanted to visit the Animal Welfare, which is about 7km from my hostel. I thought about just getting a scooter again, but I had nothing else to do today, so why not take the bike.
When I got to the Animal Welfare, there was a tour around the place just starting in that moment, so I joined them. One of the volunteers did the tour. It was a guy from the Netherlands who is staying there for three weeks and is helping out.
While showing us the facility, he told us everything about the place. They take in dogs from the street, or people who can’t take care of them themselves, and care for them. There’s also a vet, if the animals need medical attention. After-wards the dogs ether return to their owners, or are kept there until they are adopted.
They are also educating children on how to treat animals. Many Thais seem to be afraid, especially of dogs, so they mistreat them.
Normally I would’ve taken one of the dogs for a walk, but you can’t do that between 12am and 5pm, because of the heat.
After that I went to the beach and just relaxed there. I snorkeled around a bit, with a snorkel one of the guys at the dorm gave me, because he didn’t need it anymore.
I went back to the hostel, got some drinks and went to see the sunset.
Random things: I have taken over 1000 pictures now. Does anyone know what the fuck these things on the sunset picture are? I tried cleaning the lens, but it doesn’t seem to help… Maybe it’s inside the lens? It’s only really visible when I zoom in.
