Relaxing on Koh Phangan
My last night on Phi Phi I spent partying with the english guys again. This time I didn’t get a bucket, because I had to get up early to catch the ferry to Koh Phangang at 10am. So I just had some Changs and we went to the beach parties. This time however, all the beach clubs shut off the music at 2am, maybe because it was sunday. Probably for the better (for me at least).
The next day I spent traveling to Koh Phangan, which is quite the trip. You have to take the ferry to Krabi, the bus to Seatran (I think) and then another ferry to Koh Phangan via Koh Samui. That took pretty much the whole day.
While walking from the pier to the bus in Krabi, I saw a big lizard. This was the first real wildlife I’ve seen in Thailand, which I think is strange.
Koh Phangan is much more laid back than Koh Phi Phi. At least right now, when there’s none of the (in)famous Full Moon Parties. Sadly I’m going to miss the next one by one or two days I think, but that’s ok.
So I spent my days mostly relaxing on the pool / beach of the hotel, where I’m at right now. It’s called the beach village, it’s pretty nice.
Today I wanted to rent a scooter the explore the island a bit more, go to the mountain lookout point and whatnot, but the scooter rental guy was kind if strange. All I wanted to know was if I have to pay if the scooter just ‘randomly’ dies down. He didn’t get it (or didn’t want to get it?) and then panicked and said “ok you no scooter!”…
Well I guess I spent one more day relaxing then.
Tomorrow I will leave Koh Phangan and go to Koh Tao, which is pretty close, so it shouldn’t take that long to get there. I will spent 4 nights there and then I’ll probably head back to Bangkok.
It’s a bit early, but I’m pretty much done with all the places I wanted to visit. But I still have some sights left in Bangkok that I wanted to visit and of course I can finally do some shopping when I’m in Bangkok again!
